I have had a couple of conversations over the last couple of weeks about MobiTV. So, if you have heard me talk about how cool this is, you can stop reading now.
MobiTV is a service that for around $10 a month delivers TV to your cellphone. This is the holly grail of the telecommunications industry. If everyone could be watching what they want, when they want the world would be a better place. Maybe a better place for the telecoms. Everyone wants video on their phone, except my dad, and most will pay the extra to get it. A new revenue stream, my mouth would be watering too!
MobiTV is delivering video now and from what I have read the quality is not bad. This company along with all the major players are all working on some sort of video delivery service. The only thing holding back the forward movement is of course bandwidth over your phone. Most areas of this country have slow to little high-speed access on their phones. This fact is changing everyday, but we are still years away from full nationwide high-speed access and a TV in every hand.
In the mean time. If you live in a urban area and have a phone capable, check out MobiTV. Let me know what you think. I cant wait to be able to watch live news feeds right from my phone.

Really watching the tube on a

I tried this on my phone but it just sat there and never played… I wanted to take advantage of my unlimited bandwidth i’m paying for … I’ll keep downloading the Cinema Psychic for now and hope for this service to work better the next time I try it.
It’s fun to be able to download podcasts on the phone if I’m stuck somewhere waiting for something or someone. Then I plug the audio into my car speakers and have perfect audio to go with the 1 inch x .5 inch screen !! So Cool!!
