Janet Leigh passed away yesterday at the age of 77. Talk about a lady with an extraordinary life! She stared in over 50 films with some of the biggest names in Hollywood during its golden years. Did I mention she was married to Tony Curtis! I was always sure he was gay. Turns out he was just a pretty boy.
She will truly be missed by this fan.

Just in case some of you missed it on Wednesday the film composer Elmer Bernstein passed away at age 81. He scored many movies including The Ten Commandments, The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird and True Grit, National Lampoon’s Animal House, Airplane! and Ghostbusters. He was a gifted man who lead an amazing life.

The fat man as I called him faded into the sunset yesterday at age 80. Brando who made over 40 pictures in his career that spans the last fifty years was a Hollywood icon. He is most memorable rolls included Stanley in Street Car, Teryy in On the Water Front, Vito Corleone in the Godfather and one of my personal favorites Colonel Walter E. Kurtz in Apocalypse Now. In Apocalypse, Coppola had to practically hold Brando’s hand throughout the filming, most of his lines in the flick were just the dribble that was coming out of Brando’s mouth. You can see all of the Apocalypse stuff on the making of the movie on the DVD. Even after all of the turmoil he created on the set the performance is still one of his greatest, well in my mind.
Love him or hate him his work as an actor speaks for its self. We have lost yet another great!
