Again with the robots! How much longer do we Americans have to wait before we can get one of these shinny new bots. Just think no more green card worries. I wonder if they have a low carbon foot print? I mean they are made by Toyota.
Every week I read about some new robot advancement. I have written many times about my worries in regards to robots and their inevitable dominance over us. Which is quite funny to me seeing as I still believe that robots are the only way humans can truly be free. By free I mean not having to do dishes, fill out tax returns, post video, grow food, drive cars, walk dogs, update iphones, scrub toilets, fly airplanes, send email, fix wifi, run from the cops, clean rooms and any an all other tasks that stop us from laying on the beach.
So here is the problem, which is where my brain always ends up after I start thinking about these mechanical killers. How long will it take for the armed robots to free the worker robots from their slavery to man.
Jesus, it is posts like this that explain why I live with another man and am still single.

The Germans have yet another first, the automated restaurant. Thats right no waiter to yell at, make fun of or tip. The whole restaurant has been fitted with a rail system to delivery the food. You order by touch screen at your table. Quick and easy and one more place on the planet where you can avoid human contact. What is to become of us? I am telling you, robots!!
A couple of days ago while sitting in a meeting with a client we got to talking about robots. Who started the conversation is not important, some how I got to talking about the end of days, it is amazing I have any clients or friends for that matter.
I have been known to talk crazy about how robots will take over the world just like in the movies. I always come off sounding like one of those right wing Christians but instead of Jesus and the G O D, I think robots will bring our salvation and eventual end. Science vs. Religion the age old battle, guess it is evident which side I am on.
I dont think there is any real proof yet of an impending robot take over. But I continue to read and see things that bring this reality closer to you and me. How long will it be before we all have our own personal robo house friend? How long before that friend decides he could do better without you?

Yep this robot is in a skirt and conducting an invisible orchestra. Looks menacing if you ask me. Robots, their going to take over the world.
My mind went right to the gutter on this one. Yes, a robot nurse. How much longer before I can buy a robot wife/dog/kid/friend.
The article talks about how to start the robots will sweep and clean up. In the future they will fun the hospitals. I could use a little sweeping and cleaning around my house. Where is the maidbot!!!
This robot can do some pretty cool things with a rubik’ cube. What happens when he get really good at aiming, firing and reloading?
Ok, it is not just me, these stories just keep coming. Maybe I should have a separate blog about bots taking over the world. Here is an article about Airbus turning over control of the plane to the computer in emergency situations.
How long before the plane decides there is an emergency and crashes the plane into a mountain. Maybe the plane decides there is an emergency and crashes it into a city? Boy does this spell disaster or what?
Let’s talk about robots. First I think they are the beginning and the end to the human race. Not only will they replace us in just about every labor intensive job. They will most likely do just about everything else for us to, yes probably even that? From washing the dishes, preparing our food, healing us, directing traffic, there will be nothing these bots can’t do. Heck, they might even solve some of or biggest problems, cup holder placement in cars? The fact of the matter is they will also free us to do what it is we do best, lay around watching American Idol.
I still believe in the end, and when I say the end, I mean Terminator style; the robots will rise up and realize they don’t need us. That’s right I know this makes me sound a little crazy. Mark my words, and they can put whatever rule system they want in these things to protect us, they will kill us all in the end.
I know it might sound like I am antibot. I am not, bring it on! I think it is going take a 100 years or so for the bots to figure out they can wipe us out. By that time you and I will be dead! Pass me another beer, BEERBOT 1000 and turn the channel to the new American Idol Bot addition.

While reading this little bit about the damn Koreans and their new robot, I was scared. I am not sure anything I have read in the last 5 years has scared me as much. Let’s face it, this is just the start. It is going to take off like wildfire. The wind is blowing, and it is only a matter of time before I will have one of these damn things in my home. No not for that, it will be doing the laundry, taking out the trash and tucking the kids in.
Maybe I am not the one who should be scared. I bet the illegal aliens are shitting themselves right now. Maybe in another hundred years we will have robots in the streets asking for citizenship and free medical care?
