South Park has been nominated for an Emmy this year for the World of Warcraft episode. South Park has been nomitnated many times over the years but has only won once in 2004.

I am big South Park fan. The boys and I still talk about the WOW episode. It is easily one of the best in the last 5 years. South Park has had a great couple of seasons. It still amazes me how fresh the writing continues to be and funny and relevant the show remains. The WOW episode is awesome but my personal favorite is the Go God Go episode. This is the one where Cartman is waiting for the Wii and freezes himself. Fucking classic!

New Star Wars Clone Wars animated series coming soon.  I was a big fan of the last set as they were very well produced and written.  Lets hope this set stands up as well.

New Clone Wars

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) one of my favorite channels on cable is launching a new video portal on their website June 1st. The site will feature classic movies from their archive for your viewing pleasure. TCM is such a great channel for old film buffs like myself. It makes me warm inside that the network will now have an even stronger web presence. The content they are providing to the web will enhance an already strong brand. Cant wait!

Looks as though the rumors have been confirmed, Studio 60 on the sunset strip will not return for a second season.   The NBC fall line up was published this last week and the show was not included. The remainder of the shows episodes will play out this summer on Thursday nights.

It is disappointing that such a well written show has found its way to the garbage bin in just one short season.  Figures though, Americans are watching TV more and more for the reality of it.  A good story it seems is being lost to Dancing with the Homeless or my soon to be new favorite National Bingo Night.  Sorkin gave it his best shot with top notch writing and a cast most directors would give their first born to have. Good shows come and go, and this was one of the best. I am not giving up on TV just yet, there still a couple of shows worth my time.  I think Americas Top Model is still on.

You might remember earlier this year when the Motion Picture Academy made Youtube and others remove video clips of the 2007 Oscars from their websites.   I remember thinking, another huge mistake made by the top brass to protect something that needs not be protected.  Here were a bunch of people watching clips of the Oscars who would not normally watch.  Now, I can see how an argument could be made that the MPA is losing money on this internet video.  But come on these people didnt watch the boring four hour telecast to start.  Maybe, just maybe these people checking out a cool clip on Youtube will get them to tune in next year.  Better yet, to avoid this the MPA should have its site post the highlight video with ads on their site right after the Oscars.  Smart.

Here is yet another wise move by the MPA.  They are suing an Oscar fan site for essentially promoting the Oscars for free.  The MPA is mad that this once free fan site has got a couple of google ads to help pay bandwith bills.  I understand the battle that is taking place between the two sides.  I just wish old school media could pull its collective head out of the mud and realize things that are free can lead to the trees with money on them.

Some of you may know my old friend Daisy Gardner works for NBC and writes for the show 30 Rock. She is a super talented girl and we are o so proud. The show is very funny and if you haven’t seen it yet, NBC Thursday, iTunes or bittorrent it, you will laugh. If you don’t I will break your legs.
