Looks as though the WMD that was locked down in Iraq have gone missing. I know what you are thinking. How can the only Super Power in the world lose something so important? It’s easy, have no plan when invading a hostile country and a lot of shit walks away.

By far my favorite quote of the day is from this bbc piece. “”Our main concern is that if the materials fall into the wrong hands they could be used to commit terrorist acts,” the spokesman added.” No shit, terrorist acts with weapons. Wow what a world.

Read this article in the Times and maybe you will see what I think I see. Yes, dead people, a lot of them all over the country. But that’s not it. No, look, I have been saying it since the start of this mess. Iraq is just the stepping stone to total control of the region. We have the troops and the resources in place. All we have to do now is prove to the American people these countries are dangerous. I am not talking about just evil or some kind of terrirost threat. You are going to have convince this post Weapons of Mass destruction America it can’t go on unless it rids the world of these non-Christian heathens. It won’t be as easy as last time; we have become a smarter country?

Wait its going to be really easy. We love killing others in the world and doing it with a clean slate. I love this God fearing nation.

It has been brought to my attention that one of my “close friends”. Just because you don’t get out much doesn’t mean you can’t have close friends. Where was I, oh yes, is involved in a new blog. If you are a Bushy I am not sure this one is for you. If you like a good old mud slinging political read, this page should be fun. If you have a little time with what is left of the week. I would check this site out. It is informative and I think very funny!

This last week has been a devastating one for the former Soviet Union. Not only did the whole country lose 400 or more of its own. The way in which this loss of life was done and handled by authorities was shameful. In a time when we as humans have made such great strides, to see this happen is pitiful. The fall of communism and the rise of the Great Russian state should have brought a re-birth of these people. Instead we are left with a former Soviet state riddled with corruption, economically depressed and unable to resole hostage/terrorist situations. The greed for land and money in combination with a poorly run government has made a small conflict in the south a big conflict for the country.

As I have posted about in the past, Russia’s biggest terrorist threat comes from Chechnya. These people have been fighting for independence from the Mother country for 150 years. The problem is land, oil, money, and greed; you know the normal things in life. The Chechnya problem could have been solved and would have made this last 10 years of bloodshed avoidable. Granting this region the independence it deserves would be the right thing to have done. It is high time the Russians admit they lost and go home. Hell I don’t care what they do. As long as they leave and let the region deal with itself without there big brother hand in the mix.

For the terrorists that have committed these and other crimes in and around Russia. They must be held accountable. The question is, will the men and women who have pulled off this latest action pay, maybe. If there is retaliation by the Russians it will likely lead to more killings and a tougher crack down on this region

So you ask yourself, what is the answer? Can we take these once only nationalistic rebels turned fundamentalist and make peace? Or is it too late? Will this like many other regional conflicts go on forever?

I just hope the next time these heartless shits decide to take someone hostage they don’t prey on the children. I was watching the news this morning, FOXNEWS if you can believe it? A woman was saying just what I have said here about the children. She finished by saying, “can you believe these people could do this horrible thing?” I thought to myself, what a stupid thing to say. Yes I can believe it; you want to know why, because they did do this horrible thing. People have done worse lady. Are we out of touch in this country? It should not be can you believe, but how do we stop and make changes so it will not happen again? I am being to preachy?

It seems a DOD employee has been accused of giving secrets to the Israelis. There is an investigation underway. The employee in question has been known to be pro-Israel. Has ties to various groups and has been involved with them in the last couple of years.

I am sure we will get to the bottom of this whole secrets debacle. These kinds of incidents are happening all the time. I am also sure it will cost us an arm and a leg. What I really want to know is what secrets have we not already given them.

Let us look at the short list. We have given them the BOMB and a good portion of our military equipment. We share intelligence with them on a regular basis as they are our stepping stone and foot hold in the Middle East. This along with the billions of dollars we give this country every year in aid. I think this is quite a lot. Do they really need to know more about what we are up to?

Now I know, in this age of information, it is always good to know what everyone is doing. Especially if we suddenly decided to sluff off our closest ally and back, I don’t know, Iran?

I guess the old adage rings true. Keep your enemies close and your friends closer. In the end I guess we spy and steal things from them all the time too. The kicker is, we probably provide the initial training to them way back in the late forties.

If there were only Oil.

Things in the Darfur region of the Sudan are improving, or look to be, on some fronts. In other areas of concern the situation remains stagnate. It seems the UN’s threats to impose sanctions against this third world country are having some affect. The Sudanese government is doing just enough to keep the UN and the world community at bay. If the rebels fail to disarm the UN has said it will impose sanctions and possible put troops into the region.

Meanwhile the starvation in the Sudan is still a real and pressing issue. The Red Cross has said it will begin airlifting supplies and food into the region this month. This along with the help a various humanitarian organization is a good start.

I don’t want you to think the pressure from the UN and the world is not helping in the Sudan, because it seems it is indeed. The latest coming out of the region is promising, cooperation from the government is better. They have rounded up some rebels; I am sure as a sign to the international community they are “cooperating”. All signs, four days before the deadline, are good. Does this mean the government is still corrupt and that their actions against the people in this region are criminal. Yes, but what to do with a corrupt government that commits crimes against its own people?

We now wait and see what the next step will be sanctions, troops or a real solution. Removal of the current government in tandem with some UN peace keepers I think would be a good start.

Two Russian airliners went down over that country today at just about the same time. The President, V. Putin says he will investigate. There is very little news coming in at this time. More on this later I am sure.

There are two big stories leading the news today, I don’t see the Olympics as one of those stories. I mean, come on is a guy or gal breaks some time record going to change my life? Better yet, will I think of this record breaking moment ever again? No I doubt I will, well at least not until the next Olympics. I am going to hold off on the Olympics bashing for its own blog.

Yes, the first big story is the hand over of some masque in the “holy city” of Najaf in Iraq. Now I know as an American I should give a shit about this particular hand over and the end of violence. I do care about the end of violence in this region but my optimism for the true end is a little waning. I like most Americans are ready to get out and be done with this debacle. I am going to sing a little song about it, here goes.

This land is their land, from the tigress river to the southern oil fields, from ousted dictator, to the puppet government from the hostile factions to the debunked army, to the mass corruption to the poor planning cause this land was made for them not me.

I know we are not leaving and we will have to endure even more causalities as this “transition” to a free Iraq continues. I guess I am just tired of hearing about the mess that is Iraq. Maybe I am just tired of reading about the death and destruction of a whole country. When I read about all the things, billions of dollars gone missing, oil prices on the rise, innocent civilians dying, American military coming home in body bags. This situation ways heavy on my mind as I am sure it does for the rest of the country. It is not just about the people, it is about the state of affairs in the country. I am still hopeful that all will work out in the favor of these proud people. I hope we can make it to the real election and the out come will help bring peace and stability. Come on you can have hope with me.

The other big story, I know there are many, oil prices. Yes as an American who is use to paying 19 cents for gasoline. This jump in crude oil prices has got me itching in my pockets. All I keep think is, wait we have gone to war against another nation for better oil prices. What the hell happened? I know that was not the “real” reason? But a warning I put out months ago to my friends in the white house still stands. If you cannot get this oil thing under control, it will become a campaign issue. I know that none of us want that to happen. Plus I would really like to drive my 34 foot SUV to Mexico this year. I hope they work it out before November.

I know I have said to many a person, can’t we all just take the month of August off from our lives and be happy. I think this month should be designated, you can’t kill anyone or do wrong month. I have other ideas for this month too. No clothes month, pay me not to work month, lie on the beach month. I am sure you all can think of a few.

Today is already the 20th of the month. If you have not got your summer grove on yet, do so now! Stop reading these blog’s for a day, turn off the TV and get your ass outside. There will be plenty of time to worry about Iraq, Nuclear Weapons, mass killings, food shortages and so on, later. For now, be happy; run around in the summer air and think of me on the beach with your girlfriend.

Happy Friday all!!

Yes Jim the revolution is over. That’s right, back in 1991 on this date the beginning of the end for the USSR was just starting. I was over seas during this time and I was sure there was a civil war afoot. I figured it would spread through Europe and all hell would breakout. Of course, every time anything happened in the Soviet Union, I thought there was a war about to breakout. Maybe it is just me but, doesn’t it seem like a war is about to break out all the time?

Months later Gorbi would give up power and the great red threat would come to an end. I was not the happiest that day. I know what you are thinking, what, why, how. I was young and full of hope for a utopian type communist state. I know this did not exist, but the down fall of the USSR proved to the rest of the world it could never work. Except for those few hold outs China, North Korea, Vietnam and Cuba all garden spots of the planet. Looking back on my clippings from the time I think to myself, wow what a little red you were. I know now in my older age, 16 how miss guided I was at age 2.

So to all you modern day communists, get a clue your boat left the dock and then sunk right off shore. The only time communism is ever going to really work is if the following were to happen. Two guys or gals move somewhere and forgot what it is to be human. Greedy, jealous, power hungry capitalists who want anything more than what you have.

It is now time to come up with a new form of government. Some form of government as inventive as Communism, without the negative affects. The downsides of communism being the lack of innovation, creations of a directorial regime, poverty, starvation and so many other unmentionables. I know this is quite a task. Do not get yourself down trying to think of some new wonder government. There will be another revolution in our time. If you and I are lucky, and I know we are, we will see this change. A change in the way we think about governing people worldwide. So, if we keep working together to make this world a better place. Taking our new ideas and bringing them together with the old. Our future doesn’t look so grim at the end of the day. Personally I would be happy with the final idea being called, Jimism. Heck I am a dreamer.

Calm yourselves you wack job new world order freaks. This is not what I am saying. Think beyond conspiracy. I know it will be hard, but there is something human about taking care of one another and living peacefully?

I was just reading about Charley, spelled differently, but I think he is now been classified as a killer storm. Those of you who have contact with him today be careful. Storms of his magnitude have been known to create large hail and damaging winds. You should take special precautions. If you see Charlie coming, find a safe place and wait him out.
